Movie Web Site - "Master and Commander" wins
"Best Of Festival" in 6th Annual Design Competition

    SAN JOSE, CA. - August 4th 2004 - The movie web site "Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World" was named "Best of Festival" for The International Web Page Awards year 2003 competition. Established in 1998, the International Web Page Awards is the leading international forum for web designers and graphic artists.
    In addition to winning the top prize, "Master and Commander" submitted and created by the design firm Bleu22 Studios Inc. Culver City, CA won "Best of Category" in the Localization - Multilingual Category.
    Other "Best of Category" winners were "Disney.Com" submitted by Disney Online for Entertainment, The Movie Web Site - "Lost In Translation" submitted by Creative Domain Hollywood, Ca for Film, "Popsicle.com" submitted by Zentropy Partners Minneapolis, MN, for Lifestyle / Recreation, "Elvis - 2nd to None" submitted by BMG of New York City for Music and The "UPS Web Site" submitted by Macquarium Intelligent Communications Atlanta, GA for Corporate.
    According to Ed Fish, the Web Page awards chairman and founder, "This year's entries continued to show Flash Animation, as well as streaming audio and video, the quality of which has improved substantially over past years entries. This was particularly apparent in the entertainment-related categories."

National Geographic Magazine and Disney
Return as "Best of Winners"

    Winning "Best of Category" awards for the second year in a row was Disney Online Burbank, for "Best Of Entertainment". Disney Online's sister company Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online won "Best Of Travel". National Geographic Magazine of Washington, DC returned to win "Best of Category" for Print/Zines

International Web Site Design Firm "Winners"

    In total, 15 different countries participated in ths year's festival with Web site designs received from Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the United States.
    Zentropy Partners GmbH of Hessen Germany and Zentropy Partners UK Ltd of London both won "Creative Excellence Awards" in this year's festival with Zentropy, London winning "Best Of Category" for Flash Design Attributes.
    Other "Creative Excellence Awards" went to Assai Interactive AG - Zurich, Switzerland and Die Firma GmbH Wiesbaden, Germany.

First Time - Student Winner
School Of Visual Arts - Little Falls, NJ

    Orlando Haddock a student at The School Of Visual Arts in Little Falls, NJ became the first student to garner the necessary 120 out of 156 points needed to win a "Creative Excellence Award". He was then awarded "Best Of Category" for Student Entries.
    According to Ed Fish "This is quite an achievement considering the nature of the competition." Each web site is evaluated by four different web site designers for content, design and programming attributes. Web sites scoring 100-119 points are awarded "Certificates Of Creative Achievements" Web sites scoring over 120 points are "Creative Excellence" winners and finalists in the competition.
