Web sites eligible for consideration must have been created and viewable on the Internet during the calendar year of 2005. Because of the nature of this competition, participants are encouraged to enter only those web sites that represent true excellence in Web site design.
Entries may be submitted for consideration by Web page designers, advertising agencies, corporations or individuals who wish to spotlight their creative achievements of interactive graphic design on the Internet. Entryfees for early entries are $ 125.00 U.S. per Web site, per category. Each work must be original and not based on the art work of a previous designer. Each web site submitted will be completely evaluated by a pre-qualified Web page designer and/or pre-qualified graphic artist representing an advertising agency, corporation, or company (see below). Web sites are evaluated for content, graphic design and programing. Entries may be submitted in more than one category, but multiple entries will require separate entry fees for each additional category submission. No adult or pornographic web sites are permitted in the competition.
Entries may be submitted by mail or over the Internet at our Web site www.webpageawards.com. Entry fees submitted via regular mail should be made payable to "The International Web page Awards" by means of check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank. For payments drawn on banks located outside the U.S., an additional $40.00 will be required as an exchange fee. Entry fees for additional categories may be combined on one check. Note that entry forms are used to provide information on any awards given and therefore must be filled out accurately. Duplicate awards will be available for purchase after the festival.
Web designers and/or representatives of advertising agencies, corporations or companies who wish to participate in judging must be well versed in the following: HTML and/or DHTML, Cascading Style Sheets, CGI, JavaScript, Active-X, Java, web browser inconsistencies, plug-in technology, database integration, graphic design fundamentals, web animation techniques such as GIF animation and/or Shockwave animation, streaming technologies, and e-commerce solutions. Judges selected from entrants will receive prominent recognition and links to their organizations' Web site by means of our Web page for one year following their participation. Judges will also receive special recognition and contact information on our "Awards Winners Program" available at the Awards Ceremony. Award winning sites will also be linked to our site for any award given.
Participants will receive confirmation of their entries via regular mail or e-mail within three weeks of receipt. Entries received after the deadline of April 21st but prior to April 30th, 2006 will be subject to an additional $40.00 late fee. No entries received after April 30th, 2006 will be eligible for the 2005 competition. Award results will be posted in June of the year 2006.
Awards not picked up at the awards ceremony will be shipped via surface mail unless special arrangements are made with our offices prior to the Awards Presentation in June of 2006.
